The Negro in Aviation by Walter T. Dixon, Jr.

Thank you to my friend, Lesley Gist (Gist of Freedom) for posting about Cornelius Coffey and his aviation school, the Coffey School of Aeronautics in Oaklawn, Illinois on her Facebook page. So I pulled this rare pamphlet from the archives entitled The Negro in Aviation.

The Negro in Aviation was written by Walter T. Dixon, Jr., son of prominent Negro politician, chiropractor, and high ranking Masonic leader, Walter T. Dixon, Sr. The pamphlet was saved from the trash in Historic Old West Baltimore. It is extremely rare and the HathiTrust, a partnership of major research institutions and libraries that works to preserve cultural records to make them accessible long into the future, does not have a copy.
